In class, we are learning new words. This week, we have to write sentences of the vocabulary.

1.     Recently, I volunteer in a charity to help people that need it.

2.     The president of Apple sued Samsung for similarity in their smart phones.

3.     My best friend just graduated as attorney.

4.     A lot of business is in bankruptcy because of the crisis in the economy.

5.     The money was gone before he knows how much he has to spend.

SOMEONE YOU ADMIRE

I'm going to talk about my favorite icon. She is Audrey Hepburn.  She was born in May 4, 1929 in Brussels. Audrey is recognized as film and fashion icon. The thing I like about her is her elegance and grace in all her movies. She was a kind- hearted woman, because she dedicated her life to UNICEF as a Goodwill Ambassador. She spoke a lot of languages such as French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish and German.

In her early life, she has to live during World War II. In this time, her mom made her called Edda Van Heemstra and speaks Dutch. So, nobody knows where she came from. Also, she had many troubles with her family.  Many of her struggles during this time were malnutrition and respiratory problems. Even though, Audrey had a lot of trouble in her life and has to be thick-skinned for all these bad things happening, she became a self-sufficient person. She’s so brave.

What I really like about her is her career as an actress. I love her movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. Her interpretation as Holly Golightly made her an icon in the American film. This part was originally intended for Marilyn Monroe. I can watch it and never get tired of it. I considered her a single-minded person, because with her fame she never forgot what happen to her and help others when they needed. She wasn’t stand-offish about her life, her marriage and her career, because in every interview she speaks her mind.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION

When I realize that I have to take English IV, I thought is going to be in high school again. I thought it was going to be boring, teaching the same thing over and over again, but I was wrong. The class was different. It was very funny and interesting how the professor wants us to learn English. She is an easygoing teacher and she is not a regular teacher. She knows how to teach, so everybody has interest learning the right way English.

Because the class is very dynamic, I don’t realize how fast the time pass by. I have classmates of all the careers in the university. They are a great group and very helpful. I have high expectations for this class, the teacher and also myself. I hope I would learn more and go through the things I don’t remember. I hope the to keep learning and the class keep being fun and different.
